From Grape to Glass: The wonderful world of wine

In our summer wine tasting course, Le Cordon Bleu Summer Wine Week, you will learn to taste wine like an expert. We will take you through the wine making process from grape to glass and discuss how different styles of wines are made. From this you will learn how to describe them, how to read a label, the dos and don’ts of wine pairing and the perks of collecting, cellaring and sharing wines with friends and family.

By the end of the course you will have built a solid foundation of wine knowledge, a more discerning palate and be confident to talk about wine by associating the flavour profile, winemaking and style of wine. Over five consecutive days and over 70 wines, you will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best wine professionals in a lively and friendly, yet informative, atmosphere, where students are encouraged to actively participate in the discussions.

Taking place over 5 consecutive days, Monday to Friday, classes run 10:30am - 5:30pm each day. Each day includes three 2-hours lectures with tastings and two 30-minutes breaks.

Lead by Master Sommelier Matthieu Longuere, each 2-hour session will guide you through sensory evaluation skills as you compare wines made with the same grape across several regions, and learn how to identify major factors which affect the flavour profile of a range of wines.

Course content includes:
