A thorough cuisine training and work placement

This integrated programme comprises Le Cordon Bleu's Diplôme de Cuisine where students receive a formal culinary education followed by a 3-month internship.

Diploma fees include: ingredients, uniforms, knife kit, learning materials

Hours per week: approximately 18 to 21 hours at school and no more than 48 hours per week during the internship

Entry requirements: evidence of English language. No prior culinary experience is required. All students must be aged 18 years or over

Please note that in order to successfully complete our Diplôme de Cuisine with Internship Pathway, students will be required to handle live shellfish, prepare and use veal stock, take part in practical butchery classes on beef, pork and chicken, and handle alcoholic beverages within a culinary context.

Please note: applications requiring a visa can close up to 12 weeks before the course start date.

  • Course Structure

    The programme is composed of the Diplôme de Cuisine where students learn classic French culinary techniques as well as attend a number of workshops to help them in finding the right work experience (CV writing, interview preparation etc.).
    After completion of the 9-month diploma, students will join one of our industry partners for a 3-month work experience.

  • Who is this programme for?

    The Diplôme de Cuisine with Internship Pathway has been designed to provide students with an experience of working in a professional kitchen as part of their culinary training. We welcome students from a variety of different educational and occupational backgrounds. No prior culinary experience is required.

  • What qualification will I gain?

    Qualification title: Le Cordon Bleu Diplôme de Cuisine (Internship Pathway)

    SCQF level: 8

    SCQF Credits: 118

    This qualification is listed on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and has been independently credit-rated by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
