This wine workshop showcases the difference styles of sparkling wines available in the UK, acting as a perfect introduction to each.
Students will have the opportunity to learn first-hand from Master Sommelier Matthieu Longuere about the many different attributes of a variety of sparkling wines, including the methods that were used to produce them, identifying some of the core differences between them and the different origins or their tastes.
The wines that will be examined are from all over the world, with a focus on three different methods that can be used to create wine. These methods are the traditional method, the tank method and the Col Fondo Method. The eight wines you'll taste are all chosen because they express different facets of the world of sparkling wine.
Col Fondo Method:
- Col Fondo Prosecco
Tank Method:
- Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG
Traditional Method:
- English Sparkling Wine
- Pink English Sparkling wine
- Cava Gran Reserva Brut Nature
- Crémant du Jura Blanc de Blancs
- Vintage Champagne
- New World Sparkling Wine
