Culinary Practice Management Taster Course

Birkbeck, University of London, UK

This taster course introduces students to the exciting world of culinary arts and hospitality management, blending hands-on food training with essential business and leadership skills. 

This will explore how the industry operates and what it takes to succeed in roles such as kitchen manager, restaurant operator, or food entrepreneur. The session will cover key concepts in BBA Culinary Industry Management, highlighting how professionals tackle real-world issues like sustainability, innovation, and customer experience. The structure of the taster course includes:

  • Marketing the culinary and hospitality industry 
  • Birkbeck Campus tour 
  • Le Cordon Bleu campus and kitchens tour 
  • Final talk and Q&A 

Delivered through a unique partnership between Birkbeck, University of London, renowned for its business and management education and Le Cordon Bleu London, one of the world’s leading culinary institutions, the taster course offers a rare opportunity to gain insights into a truly multidisciplinary programme. 
Students will learn about the structure of the degree and its focus areas, which include food production, service design, marketing, entrepreneurship, and food safety. There is also flexibility to tailor studies to individual interests and career goals.
