During this event, Paul will provide an introduction to the Chefs’ Manifesto network, their Action Plan, targeted advocacy and why chefs can be change agents, and Chef Jon will present a live cooking demo and conversation, which will highlight the importance of diverse diets for human and planetary health.

Paul Newnham founded the SDG2 Advocacy Hub in 2016, a secretariat convened to connect NGOs, advocacy groups, civil society, private sector, and United Nations agencies around Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hunger. The Hub’s goal is to coordinate global campaigning and advocacy to achieve food systems transformation, and it does so by facilitating multiple projects.

Jon Lawson began training as a chef in 2006 and eventually found himself working in the kitchen of Theo Randall, where he embraced a philosophy of simple Italian cooking with fine seasonal produce. In late 2016, having spent a year doing super clubs and a number of stages, he opened Popolo restaurant in Shoreditch, focused on serving informal sharing plates and natural wines.
