Guest Chef Demonstration with Chef Ashok Kumar

Le Cordon Bleu London are pleased to be hosting a culinary demonstration with Ashok Kumar, Executive Chef for Kanishka by Atul Kochhar.

Chef Ashok has held roles as Executive Chef for Indian Essence by Atul Kochhar and head chef at Michelin-starred Benares Bar & Restaurant in Mayfair, London. Prior to this he was a finalist in the National Chef of the Year competition in 2022.

For this event, Chef Ashok will be demonstrating a recipe of hand dived Scottish scallops marinated with sesame and tradition south Indian Chettinad masala, sunflower and asafoetida, kumquat and apricot chutney with edible flowers and micro basil cress.

Ashok Kumar

Chef Ashok has trained in Michelin star restaurants and leading five-star hotels in India and abroad. He was born in the beautiful Indian city Chandigarh, which is known for its Punjabi food culture. After passing out from Chandigarh Institute of Hotel Management, he joined the Taj Mahal Hotel New Delhi. In order to enhance his culinary knowledge, he moved to Hilton Saket and later the Crowne Plaza, Gurgaon. Keen on broadening his culinary knowledge, Chef Ashok moved to London where he has been living and working for more than ten years. Now Chef Ashok focusses on combining the flavours of Indian spices with UK produce.
