Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP)
A Commonwealth supported place (CSP) is a place at a higher education provider for which the government pays part of your tuition fees. This support is provided in the form of a subsidy towards some, but not all, of your fees. Students must pay the balance not covered by the subsidy, called the ‘student contribution amount.’ CSPs are available for some Le Cordon Bleu Australia higher education courses. Students should check with a sales representative (applicants) or their Student Services team (current students) to find out if there are CSPs available in your course.
To get a CSP, you must be one of the following:
- an Australian citizen, who will be resident in Australia for at least one unit of study in their course;
- a New Zealand citizen, who will be resident in Australia for the duration of their unit(s) of study; or
- a permanent visa holder, who will be resident in Australia for the duration of their unit(s) of study.
You must also apply through our usual admissions process and meet the entry requirements for your course (see the Student Selection and Admissions Policy for entry requirements).
To apply for a CSP you will need to complete a Request for Commonwealth support application by the census date (you will receive instructions from the Admissions team on how to access this form.
You can find more information and resources about CSPs on the Study Assist website.
HECS-HELP
A HECS-HELP loan allows students to borrow money from the Commonwealth government to pay some or all of their tuition fees. You can only get a HECS-HELP loan if you are enrolled in a Commonwealth supported place (CSP).
To be eligible for HECS-HELP, you must:

HECS-HELP eligible students may pay their student contribution in the following ways:

If you wish to apply for HECS-HELP, you will be directed by the Admissions team to the HELP loan administrator. Before you apply for HECS-HELP we strongly advise that you read the Commonwealth supported places and HECS-HELP information booklet. This booklet and other resources can be found on the Study Assist website.
