Bourgogne Wines
This advanced clinic will discuss the differences between the red wines of the Côte de Nuits and the red wines of the Côte de Beaune through a comparative tasting of four pairs of 1er Crus. Participants will explore the characteristics of key appellations of the Côte d’Or and appreciate the influence of micro-climate, soils, viticulture practices, winemaking techniques and maturation.
OBJECTIVES: By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Explore the characteristics of key appellations of the Côte d’Or.
2. Appreciate the influence of micro-climate, soil composition, viticulture, winemaking and maturation.
3. Differentiate between the wines from the Côtes de Nuits and Côtes de Beaune.
4. Identify key producers and local importers of quality wines of the Côte d’Or
