Celebrate the holiday season by creating one of France’s most iconic Christmas desserts—the Chestnut and Orange Yule Log. The Yule Log, or Bûche de Noël, dates back to the 19th century, inspired by the tradition of burning a large log during winter festivities to bring warmth, good fortune, and light into the new year. Pastry chefs later transformed this symbol of hope into a beautifully crafted dessert enjoyed across France each Christmas.

In this workshop, students will learn to prepare a tender sponge cake, silky chestnut cream, and fragrant orange buttercream. You will also practice decorative techniques to create the realistic bark texture that defines the Yule Log. The final creation combines nutty richness, citrus brightness, and festive elegance—making it the perfect centerpiece for a joyful Christmas celebration.
