Le Cordon Bleu’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programme allows students to experience a real hospitality workplace, during a maximum six-month placement, before graduating to combine the theoretical and practical learnings undertaken during their studies.

During placement students can learn and develop industry skills, gain workplace knowledge, develop industry networks and increase their employability.

"Much more than just an industry-based placement, the spirit of our programme bridges the gap between education and industry. It facilitates bespoke Work Integrated Learning placements based on each students’ career aspirations." Cristina Rodrigues, Head of Industry Engagement / Alumni

What will I learn during a WIL placement?

Through placements across hospitality, tourism, and events businesses, students gain operational experience, workplace skills, professional networks, and industry insights that significantly enhance their employability and prepare them for successful careers after graduation.

How do I prepare for my WIL placement?

An introduction of the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programme will be given to students in a classroom session by the Industry Engagement team during their studies. Once students begin to determine their career aspirations, the Industry Engagement team will help identify potential WIL opportunities that best align with each student’s individual career goals.

Once a WIL opportunity has been identified, students will be given support and assistance with submitting their application to for their placement. While students will also receive ongoing support and resources from the Industry Engagement team during their placements.

Students can undertake Work Integrated Learning in a variety of hospitality businesses, from large or small hotels and restaurants to catering companies and convention centres.
