Do not miss “Chef vs Science: The Ultimate Kitchen Challenge” on BBC FOUR this Wednesday, 23rd March. The show features Professor Mark Miodownik supported by Le Cordon Bleu Master Chef Anthony Boyd and Michelin-star Chef Marcus Wareing.
Is cooking a science or an art?
In this 90 min TV show, Professor Mark Miodownik supported by Chef Anthony challenges Michelin-star Chef Marcus Wareing to the ultimate cookery competition. Both teams will have to create the same dishes using their own methods in a head-to-head contest to see who can create the most flavoursome food.
While Mark Miodownik and Chef Anthony Boyd use scientific method and advanced culinary techniques to create the dishes; Michelin-starred Chef Marcus Wareing follows a more classical route with traditional cooking techniques to achieve his objectives.
The menu will be composed of
- Starter: Tomato soup
- Main course: Medium rare steak with smooth mashed potato
- Dessert: Chocolate fondant
The entire TV programme takes place in our school and with the assistance of our Superior Cuisine and Pâtisserie students.
