Turn your passion for wine into a career

A passion for wine may be an unconventional foundation for a career, but it can be an asset in the restaurant and hotel industries where wine appreciation is a core experience for customers.

Choose the right qualification

A restaurant or hotel management degree at Le Cordon Bleu could be the first step for those wanting to become wine merchants or sommeliers with subjects such as wine fundamentals, and food and beverage management laying a foundation for wine connoisseurship.

Our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programme offers students a structured workplace experience allowing them to develop their skills and learn from industry experts. Le Cordon Bleu has an outstanding network of five-star establishments to support students in Work Integrated Learning placements. If you want to specialise in the wine industry, or for example, become a sommelier you could consider Wine and Spirit Education Trust courses after completing your Le Cordon Bleu degree.

After graduating, you'll be qualified to work in a restaurant or hotel and apply your knowledge of wine culture, sharing your expertise and passion with clients.

Working overseas

A Bachelor of Business (International Restaurant Management) or Bachelor of Business (International Restaurant Management) can start you on the path to an international career.
