Le Cordon Bleu London is pleased to announce a new edition of the Café Creation competition. This will be the second iteration of this competition, following its successful first run in Spring 2021.
Current students are invited to get creative in their kitchens at home to design a new dish for the Café Le Cordon Bleu menu. Whether it’s an enticing entremet or a creative twist on a viennoiserie, sweet or savoury, students are encouraged to get creative with their entries. This competition presents a great opportunity for students to exercise their creative skills and gain invaluable experience in recipe creation, using the knowledge they have gained so far to invent a dish that will delight visitors to the café.
The competition will be judged by Le Cordon Bleu London’s Head Pâtisserie Chef, Julie Walsh. Chef Julie will be looking for use of classic techniques and seasonal ingredients, and a recipe suitable to freshly make each day to serve in the café.
The previous winner was Diplôme de Pâtisserie student, Annabelle Davis, who won with her blood orange panna cotta petit gâteau. Her recipe was chosen for its use of seasonal fruit and wide range of classic techniques. The dish was a popular item at the café, featuring on the menu for over a month. Annabelle also got the opportunity to work with Café Le Cordon Bleu pâtisserie chef, Ellie Cook, to see how her recipe was replicated for the café.
The competition is open to all students currently enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu London, whether they have already started their course or will be starting later this year. The competition closes on 29th August 2021 at 11:59pm BTS. You can download the full entry guidelines via the link below.
