This qualification which teach you about the key grape varieties grown around the world, the different styles of wine produced and the production of spirits and liqueurs.The systematic approach to wine tasting is followed when tasting each wine.


Who it is aimed at:

  • People employed in the drinks and hospitality industries with little previous knowledge of alcoholic beverages.
  • Wine enthusiasts who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of wines and spirits and want to obtain an internationally recognized wine qualification.


Intensive Course Outline(20hours):

  • Session 1:
    Course Introduction, Tasting Technique, Food and Wine Pairing and Social Responsibility
    Factors Influencing Style, Quality and Price, The Wine Labe
  • Session 2:
    Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
    Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc
  • Session 3:
    Syrah, Grenache and Riesling
    Other White Grape Varieties and White Wines
  • Session 4:
    Other Black Grape Varieties and Red Wines
    Sparkling Wines
  • Session 5:
    Sweet Wines, Fortified Wines


Entry Requirements:

  • Students should be aged 20 years or older.


How to gain the qualification:

    • Students must successfully complete a one hour multiple choice paper of 50 questions.
