Crème Brûlée with Rose Recipe

Celebrate Valentine's Day with a fantastic Crème Brûlée with Rose. It's a classic dessert which can be prepared in advance and really wows with the crunchy caramelised top.

Ingredients

Principal ingredients
  • 50 g egg yolks
  • 65 g sugar
  • 150 ml milk
  • 350 ml crème fraîche
  • a few drops of rose water
  • brown sugar

Method

Crème Brûlée with Rose
  1. Mix egg yolks in a bowl without beating. Add sugar and whisk to dissolve. Whisk in the milk, followed by cream and rose water.
    Strain through a china cap sieve.
  2. Pour into crème brûlée dishes.
  3. Place in a slow oven 70°C for approx. 25 minutes. The cream should only be slightly set. Cool.
  4. Just before serving sprinkle with brown sugar and caramelize under a grill (salamander) or use a blow torch.
