No Compromise In Teaching Excellence

One of the many reasons why Le Cordon Bleu is considered the pinnacle of culinary education is that we never compromise in teaching excellence.

At Le Cordon Bleu, education means combining theoretical knowledge with practical training and constant feedback from our chef-instructors to perfect the skills and instincts necessary in the kitchen. For 125 years we strive to provide the utmost learning experience for our students. With the COVID-19 lockdowns and the current re-opening of Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa campus, we understand you must have doubts on how we are maintaining our unique teaching methods.

Health and Safety Measures

We have put in place a large number of measures to make our campus safe for our students, including but not limited to filling in a mandatory COVID-19 survey each morning, thermal cameras to check for fever, one-way transit routes through the building, hand sanitizers, complimentary washable masks to each student and staff, not accepting any visitors in the building as well as keeping the Signatures Restaurant closed to eliminate external contacts.

Additionally in demonstration classes: chairs are placed with 2 meters apart, advanced camera systems are used in order to make sure even the students in the back can see the chef's hands and preparation areas clearly on the TV screens in every class, specialized sound equipment enables a loud and clear narration even with the masks the chefs are wearing. Each demonstration class is recorded and made available to students online for them to watch later and practice again.

Reduced Class Size

Le Cordon Bleu is renowned for its small class personalized training to ensure that each and every student has the chance to get adequate attention and feedback from chef instructors. With reduced number of students in each class due to COVID-19 social distancing measures in place, students have even more time to interact with the chefs individually and get feedback on their practice.

With one workstation closed out of every two, students are able to keep their distance from others while they are in the practical kitchens. All the kitchens and classrooms including chairs are deeply cleaned and sanitized before and after each session, utensils and equipment collected once they are used and professionally cleaned.
