Dato’ Fazley Yaakob: Guest Chef Demonstration

Dato’ Fazley Yaakob: Guest Chef Demonstration at Le Cordon Bleu London

Chef Dato’ Fazley Yaakob is a celebrity chef from Malaysia who participated in MasterChef Celebrity Malaysia and completed his training at Le Cordon Bleu Paris where he received a Diplôme de Pâtisserie.

Chef Dato’ comes from a very diverse background from being a TV personality to a businessman and professional chef. He founded his own restaurant, SukaSucre Bistro in Kuala Lumpur which specialises in Asian-inspired pastas and pizzas and French- styled desserts such as cakes, macarons and breads

For his demonstration, he prepared a Malaysian and French infusion cuisine which was rich, spicy and delicious. He made Mixed Rendang à la Negeri Sembilan using new flavours which are rare to find in the typical European plate, for example, the beef was richly seasoned with an array of spices like anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves and lemongrass. Additionally, he prepared Green Sambal which paired really well with the chicken giving it lots of flavour.

The demonstration was very welcoming as Chef Dato’ is naturally comfortable in the kitchen and enjoyed talking to the audience about food. He even invited members of the audience to help him cook making it interactive.

It was a pleasure to have Chef Dato’ at Le Cordon Bleu London, as he showed how two different cultural foods can work well together. We’re also happy to have him as Le Cordon Bleu’s ambassador abroad.
