Similar to Norwegian Viking Smoked Salt which combines salt, pepper and curry spices, our Sel Drakkar mix incorporates vibrant curry flavours such as turmeric, coriander and cumin with the essential flavours of the Christmas season. Nutmeg, clove, cinnamon and ginger, all typically associated with Christmas, work beautifully together with the rest of the flavours to create a warming and versatile seasoning.
The base of this mix is sea salt, which is obtained by evaporating seawater to obtain an unrefined, coarse-grained salt. Mainly comprised of sodium chloride, this minimally processed salt contains some minerals, including potassium, iron, and calcium which give it a more complex flavour than table salt. To add to the flavour profile, this salt has been smoked. Smoked salts are created by slow-smoking natural sea salts over several days and are a quick and convenient way to add extra flavour to most dishes.
