Students Experience a True Canadian Tradition

Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa students get a true taste of Canadian winter tradition as they travel to Fulton’s Sugar Bush in Pakenham, Ontario.

More than 50 students took part in a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the heritage maple path to see the traditional maple tree "tapping" process for maple syrup manufacturing. Students tried various tools and equipment that were used decades ago to collect and produce maple syrup.  They were also shown the modern-day process of sap collection and the art of making maple syrup and other tasty maple products.

Students then enjoyed a demonstration class, maple tasting, and toffee on a stick while gathered around a roaring campfire.  It was a chilly yet purely "sweet" Canadian winter experience for all.
