Graduation Ceremony
June 2019 (Term 2)
at De Wan Restaurant

MALAYSIA

Term 2 graduation was a Celebrated Affair as it was held at De. Wan the restaurant in the heart of Kuala Lumpur recently opened by our very own Malaysian Celebrity Chef , Datuk Dr Chef Wan (chef Wan) who is also the country’s Food Ambassador. He had all of us in stiches when he went around interviewing our graduates asking about their future plans plus giving us so many stories about life in the Industry which is a lot of hard work but if one has the passion each chef will enjoy their work as if it’s their hobby.

Prof Wilkinson ,one of the Company’s Directors gave an encouraging speech to urge our graduates to move on and be confident as they had great skills learnt for Le Cordon Bleu master Chef after 9 months of training in the school.

Our Industry speaker, Director of Kitchens of W Hotel, Chef Richard Miller gave us a very inspiring talk on the use of sustainable ingredients , organic preferred, and how chefs can help develop small holders and farmers by buying from them. He also told the story that work as a Chef does not stop when you clocked out as you are still a cook and in the hospitality industry that call of duty goes beyond that and you can never know whom you will cook for as he relates his story of cooking personally out of his work hours for the Finance Minister of Egypt without knowing who he actually was when he presented his plate.

De.Wan presented a sumptuous Malaysian Cuisine lunch with such authentic flavours. A real insight and experience for all graduates and guests present that afternoon.
