A graduation celebration to remember

Proceedings were led by Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand general manager Jenny Jenkins who addressed the ceremony, sharing her advice to graduates. Guest speaker and executive director of WelTec & Whitireia New Zealand, Mark Oldershaw praised the endurance of graduates in persevering through the Covid-19 pandemic.

The graduates were presented their qualifications and medals by chef lecturers Francis Motta, Sebastien Lambert, Sam Heeney and Evan Michelson, as well as degree lecturers Sue Townshend and David Burton. As they were presented with their qualifications, the graduates were enthusiastically supported by families and loved ones, with applause and big cheers. All the teaching staff who helped them get to this day were also there watching proudly and applauding the recent graduates.

Simran Ahluwalia (Bachelor of Culinary Arts and Business graduate) gave the valedictory speech, sharing her experiences and insights. Distinction Certificates and Diplomas, Grand Diplome, Joie de Vivre Award and Cuisine/Patisserie Cups were also awarded. The graduation celebrations continued on return to Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand’s campus for graduates, family, friends and staff. Canapes, champagne and mocktails were enjoyed, with the opportunity for more photographs to remember the day.
