On Saturday 27th June, Le Cordon Bleu London Summer Festival 2026 will host interactive practical workshops such as the following wine tasting workshops:

  • 12:00pm - 13:00pm: Wines for Picnics and Barbecues
  • 14:00pm - 15:00pm: Talk Wine! What makes me like this tipple?
  • 16:30pm - 17:30pm: How to Choose Wine

Wine & Beverage Tasting Workshops:
Developed by Master Sommelier and Le Cordon Bleu Wine Development Manager Matthieu Longuère, these wine tasting workshops focus on elements taught in our wine school, as part of a short course or the Diploma in Wine, Gastronomy and Management. Each session will be lead by award-winning Sommelier Jiachen Lu from Cord Restaurant.

About Sommelier Jiachen Lu
Jiachen Lu is a Le Cordon Bleu alumna and Head Sommelier at Cord restaurant. She has prior experience at the Little Nell in Aspen, Le Gavroche and Dinings SW3 in London. In 2025, Jiachen was recognised as no.29 in the prestigious 2025 Top 100 Sommeliers list from Sommelier Edit.


Wines for Picnics and Barbecues

Wine tasting of 1 fizz, 1 white, 1 rosé, 1 red and 1 non-alcoholic alternative to wine.
Learn which wines can be drunk whenever and wherever and how to make sure it is served at the right temperature.

Talk Wine! What makes me like this tipple?

Wine tasting of 1 fizz, 2 whites and 2 reds
How to feel, compare and describe wine in a casual yet organized fashion. You will be able to use your senses and our expertise to leave the session knowing what styles of wines you like, where they come from and where to find them.

How to Choose Wine

Wine tasting of 1 fizz, 2 whites and 2 reds.
How to Choose the Right Wine. Answer questions such as: How to make the most of the Sommelier or shop assistant? How to enhance your wine experience? Is this wine ready to drink? Is this wine worth ageing?
