Le Cordon Bleu Student & Graduate Placement

The work placement program allows students to start building their reputation in the industry, to create contacts, build networks, learn where your strengths lie and continue shaping decisions about the career path they plan to follow.

Studying in Le Cordon Bleu programs in Sydney, you will have the opportunity to undertake work experience as part of students qualification. Le Cordon Bleu partners with hospitality organisations across Australia and overseas. The work placement program (for Bachelor of Business degrees) is completed over two blocks, during which students have opportunities to work in world class hotels, resorts, kitchens, restaurants, convention centres and small to medium food and wine businesses, depending on what particular experience and specialised degree they undertake. Le Cordon Bleu operates three types of work-based learning:

  • ‘Industry Placement’ (Cuisine & Pâtisserie)
  • ‘Professional Experience’ (Bachelors)

Work placement provides broad exposure to the hospitality and food-related industries, providing opportunities to work in positions within the Food & Beverage/ Kitchens and/or Rooms Division departments, Restaurants, Food and Wine Production and Business Operation. The work placement program allows you to apply the skills and knowledge acquired at Le Cordon Bleu within a working environment. Exciting opportunities await students during placement in the hospitality industry and in small business. Students are also introduced to the challenges faced by the industry around the world.

Le Cordon Bleu students are the future of our industry & are consistently high quality candidates. We attribute this to the education they receive & the core values they are instilled with at Le Cordon Bleu.
Cathy Sinden - Human Resources Manager - Four Points by Sheraton

Placement also infers travel to a destination that students may never experience again and enjoyment of a different lifestyle.

This exciting program is managed by the Career Services Unit. Numerous opportunities exist, in destinations such as far North Queensland, where the majestic Great Barrier Reef draws tourists from across the globe - to regional Australian destinations like Uluru and Broome - to the cosmopolitan city centres of Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, as well as International work placement opportunities in Dubai, Canada, China, London, Singapore, Thailand, USA, Scotland and all over the world (it is the student’s responsibility to obtain the necessary visa, if applicable).
