All students wishing to study in Australia are required to have an Australian Student Visa. As a prospective Le Cordon Bleu student you are encouraged to begin the visa application process well in advance of applying for your study progamme. Advice and assistance is available from your local education agent or Australian Embassy Migration office.
If you are a mature age student enrolled in a Le Cordon Bleu progamme, you must maintain adequate schooling arrangements for your school-age dependents that have joined you in Australia on a student dependent visa for more than three months as per Condition 8518. Fees may be incurred for enrolment in Australian education institutions.

Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP)
Le Cordon Bleu Australia is an approved education provider under the Streamlined Visa Processing immigration progamme for all advanced diploma of hospitality, bachelor degree and master degree progammes.
Under this progamme, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection processes visa applications from Le Cordon Bleu students under a low migration risk criteria. For most applications this means faster processing times, however SVP arrangements require Le Cordon Bleu officers to rigorously assess each applicant’s intentions as a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) to Australia.
How do I apply under the Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) Progamme
Le Cordon Bleu Australia has developed an internal assessment process to manage the risk posed by applicants from various countries and regions. Applicants from countries deemed Assessment Level 1, 2 and 3 (as determined by the information made public by the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection) will need to complete the ‘Application Eligibility Checklist’, the ‘Additional Information Checklist’ addressing the GTE criteria, and explicitly acknowledge their obligations as an international student in Australia on a student visa.
These documents aim to minimize visa refusals and assist us in identifying genuine students who plan to stay in Australia temporarily and abide by the condition of their student visa.
Applicants from Assessment Level 2 and 3 countries are also required to complete a ‘Financial Declaration’ form and provide evidence that they have the level of funds required at the time of acceptance. This information is included in the ‘Financial Declaration’ form.
Please note that the ‘Financial Declaration’ form is not currently required from applicants from Assessment Level 1 countries, however Le Cordon Bleu officers may request this form from applicants if they deem necessary for assessment purposes.
The SVP requires that Le Cordon Bleu Australia assume a greater responsibility for students’ compliance with the conditions of their student visa, therefore students should be aware that they may have their visa cancelled due to the following reasons:
- Unsatisfactory course progression
- Failure to make fee payments
- Low attendance at scheduled classes
- Transfer to another education provider
