You'll have many volunteer opportunities to earn real world experience at Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa
Real - World Experience in the Le Cordon Bleu Bistro Restaurant: We put you right in the middle of the action in our on-site restaurant, both back-of-the-house and front-of-the-house. Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa is the only school to have an on-site restaurant.
Real - World Experience in the Production Kitchen: Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa is the only campus to have a production kitchen. Students can practice their techniques and deepen their knowledge of the culinary arts while assisting chef in preparation of buffet style lunches and functions
Real - World Experience through Off-site volunteer opportunities: Broaden your knowledge through off-campus experiences at many of events, hotels, surrounding embassies and government functions.
Real - World Experience from a 5 week internship in Le Grande Diplome Professionnel program: Students can earn real world experience at one of the many restaurants, hotels and bakeries in Ottawa.
Superior Cuisine Student Kourtney has volunteered in the production kitchen, at the Genies (the Canadian Television Awards) and at the Ottawa Food and Wine Show but she has really found her niche working with Chef Oliver Bartshe at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Through all her volunteer opportunities, she has had the opportunity to prepare desserts, serve food, plate dishes, interact with clients, set up tables - all necessary real world experiences.
She loves volunteering because she receives a different perspective on the culinary arts from the different chefs. "Every chef has his own style and can teach you something so you can become well-rounded."
Kourtney was offered a job to work for Chef Oliver when she is finished school.
