Two workshops, Eat Your Words (Food Writing) and Food Photography & Styling, were held at The Byron at Byron Resort & Spa in the midst of a gorgeous tropical paradise. The popular Sample Food Festival featured in over 50 media articles showcasing the region, the festival and Le Cordon Bleu.
Those with an artistic eye were treated to an incredible hands-on Food Photography and Styling workshop with award-winning food photographer Fran Flynn. Participants had the opportunity to style and photograph their own shoots using local produce and tarts from Scratch Patisserie.
Our 14 lucky attendees also had the chance to win $1000 in a photography competition run by Verandah magazine featuring Australian macadamias. The opportunity to photograph local produce at the food festival was a distinct drawcard for attendees, many of whom published their images on Instagram at #lcbphotoworkshop18.
Nine budding writers from Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria were keen to hone their food writing skills with Le Cordon Bleu Professional Learning facilitator Justin Bergman.
After learning the secrets to crafting compelling stories for publication, attendees put their skills into practice onsite at the Sample Festival, submitting their stories for online publication. Articles written by our talented participants are available to read at the Sample Food Festival Blog.
