On Friday 13th December 2019, Le Cordon Bleu London welcomed graduates to a ceremony held at in the luxurious surroundings of The Hurlingham Club, in Fulham, West London. Graduates of the Grand Diplôme®, Diplôme de Cuisine, Diplôme de Pâtisserie, Diplôme de Boulangerie, Diploma in Culinary Management and Diploma in Gastronomy, Nutrition & Food Trends were joined by family and friends to see them receive their diplomas.

The ceremony was opened by Academic Director Chef Loic Malfait who gave parting advice to the graduates, followed by student speaker Jiachen Lu. Jiachen completed the Diploma in Wine, Gastronomy and Management in 2018, returning to graduate with the Diplôme de Cuisine at this ceremony, and attending numerous short courses between diplomas. Alumni speaker Marwa Alkhalaf took the stage next. Marwa graduated in 2017 with a Diplôme de Cuisine, before going on to open Iranian restaurant, Nutshell, in Charing Cross.

Proceedings were overseen by Head Pâtisserie Chef Julie Walsh, who welcomed students to the stage to receive their diplomas. Cuisine and Pâtisserie diploma receive medals, and Grand Diplôme® graduates are bestowed with three medals and the official Le Cordon Bleu toque – the historic white hat of a Head Chef.

To close the ceremony, Chef Julie announced the winner of the photography competition and guests were invited to join the chefs for a food and drinks reception.
