New Perth Le Cordon Bleu degree commences

Le Cordon Bleu is proud to announce the commencement of its new Bachelor of Business Convention and Event Management degree in Perth. Twenty-one students enrolled in the programme delivered at Le Cordon Bleu Perth Institute in a world-class, purpose-built facility opened in April 2016 by former WA Premier Colin Barnett.

The new Bachelor of Business Convention and Event Management programme commenced with an Orientation week held on-campus in the first week of July, to welcome and introduce new students to Le Cordon Bleu staff, academics and their new learning environment.

The first group of twenty-one students come from United Kingdom, Malaysia, India, China, Japan, Vietnam and Australia. As these students embark upon their studies, local industry expansion ensures future job opportunities and the programme’s success in Western Australia.

The degree is uniquely tailored to meet industry needs in the burgeoning Perth events and tourism sector. Derrick Casey, COO, Le Cordon Bleu Australia stated: “The new Le Cordon Bleu degree coincides with extensive industry development. In 2015/16 a study by Business Events Council of Australia found that more than 38 million people attended 430,000 business events across Australia, creating around 193,000 jobs and contributing $24.9 billion to the economy. This expansion ensures that graduates from our new convention & event management programme will be supported by increasing job opportunities within a thriving industry.” Concurrently, tourism in Western Australia is already booming with a recorded 29.5 million visitors1 in 2016.

The Perth institute is the latest addition to Le Cordon Bleu Australia with schools in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide and 35 institutes worldwide.
