Le Cordon Bleu Workshops

at Tasting Australia 2017

Le Cordon Bleu Australia is delighted to partner with Tasting Australia 2017 to offer two exclusive workshops.

Le Cordon Bleu, the leading global network of culinary arts and hospitality management institutes will present two exciting workshops in professional food writing and food photography/styling. Participants will have an exclusive behind-the-scenes at Tasting Australia with access to chefs and the chance to experience the event from a new perspective.

Participants in the five-day Le Cordon Bleu Professional Food Writing Workshop from Sunday 30 April to Thursday 4 May, will become part of the media corps reporting on Tasting Australia. Hosted by experienced food and wine journalist David Sly, it will cover a busy program of events and provide opportunity to interview key chefs, winemakers and food identities involved in the festival. Participants will have their stories published online and receive invaluable advice on mastering narrative structure, developing news sense and applying editing techniques across three distinct disciplines of writing – reportage, opinion and review.

Le Cordon Bleu Food Photography and Styling Workshop runs over two days, Monday 1 May and Tuesday 2 May 2017. It will be hosted by prominent Adelaide-based food photographer Josie Withers. Participants will experience one of Australia’s premier food and wine events through artist’s eyes. Students will learn natural light food photography techniques, image styling, exploring objects and surfaces, the use of props, correct equipment, editing and post production and social media applications. The workshop includes shooting on location in a ‘live’ chef’s kitchen and the opportunity to shoot a variety of dishes.
