The Montagud Editores publishing house, a leader in publishing Haute Cuisine books in Spain, celebrated the first edition of the Montagud Awards on January 23rd, 2023. The century-old publishing house chose to hold this traditional event in the capital city of Madrid to celebrate its first awards ceremony recognizing the most influential figures in Spanish gastronomy.

As declared by Montagud Editores CEO Javier Antoja, the objective at the publishing house is to continue telling “stories that are the stories of gastronomic culture.” Thirteen awards were presented during the event to honour a top list of industry professionals, an A-list full of names to take note of, acknowledge, enjoy, and admire.

In consonance with its commitment to gastronomic development, Le Cordon Bleu Madrid supported the first edition of the awards and chose to bestow the "Mejor Pastry Chef " (Best Pastry Chef) award to its auspicious winner, Jordi Roca (Restaurante El Celler de Can Roca***). Rosario Barrios, Managing Director of Le Cordon Bleu Madrid, presented the award and highlighted the importance of pastry within the curriculum at Le Cordon Bleu.
