Discovering a New Path 

Hawila started her journey with the dream of one day opening a bakery, after experiencing the breadth of possibilities hospitality has to offer, things changed. The Bachelor of Culinary Arts and Business gives students practical experience in a variety of learning environments, providing a comprehensive understanding of how the industry operates and the pathways open to them. Students begin by anchoring themselves in the fundamental techniques of French cuisine and pâtisserie. As they progress, the focus shifts toward the architectural elements of a successful business, from Food Quality Management Systems and Marketing Principles to Strategic Management for Global Hospitality.

While studying Hawila built her experience at Sofitel Wellington, one of the city’s top hotels. Shortly after graduation Hawila was promoted to Food and Beverage Supervisor. By building momentum in her early career while studying, Hawila has entered the industry full time with a senior position and team that are invested in supporting her future career development.
