A Special Valentine's High Tea

Students and staff celebrating the completion of the first pâtisserie collection order ready for pick-up.

On the 14th of February, our students and staff set out to make hearts flutter and overcome what would be our most ambitious High Tea service yet. A Le Cordon Bleu New Zealand High Tea has always been a booked sit down experience, one that has remained popular and in high demand thanks to the hard work of our students and chef lecturers. Held 4 times a year, it is a fantastic opportunity for our students to experience real world working conditions, and for the Wellington public to personally experience the results of our students studies.

With Valentine's Day falling in the middle of the work week, our chefs searched for a way to enable as many people as possible to experience our High Tea items with their loved ones. For the first time, we enabled the public to not only to book a table for seated high tea, but to also pre-order our High Tea items for collection on the day. It was a challenge for the kitchen team comprised of Diplôme de Pâtisserie students and staff, but they rose to the challenge, and we have received fantastic feedback from the community.

Our bachelor of Culinary Arts and Business service team faced an equally difficult task, due to some exciting campus facility developments we have had to shift our restaurant service to our sunny atrium. This has required a swift change in table layouts and organisation that our students took on in stride. We are proud of the immense efforts of all staff and students involved for creating a truly unique and delicious experience.

We look forward to opening our doors again next term. To learn when our next restaurant service takes place, please subscribe to our newsletter.
