Taking inspiration from our global campuses, this year we introduced two new short course offerings, the Junior Chef Workshop for ages 8-12 and Aspiring Chef Workshop for ages 13-18. Initially trailed earlier this year to see if our younger New Zealand community has a passion for the culinary arts ready to be ignited. The short courses have been such a success that we have offered them for every school holiday break since our first session. We have had students travel from near and far to attend these courses and become a Le Cordon Bleu student for the day with terrific feedback and many inspired students.
The Junior Chef Workshop gave young children a first taste of the kitchen, introducing them to simple culinary skills they could try again at home. The focus was on having fun while creating something delicious that they could feel proud of taking away.

Our Aspiring Chef Workshops went a step further in intricacy and depth, designed for students that are curious if the culinary arts is the right pathway for their futures. These classes were the closest to what life is like as a Le Cordon Bleu student, with some attendees already mid application for our larger programmes but eager to enter our kitchens early.
We hope all the future chefs that joined us throughout this year have found a new passion and excitement for the culinary industry. Next year we will provide many more Aspiring and Junior Chef Workshops, we look forward to seeing new and returning faces join us in our kitchen classrooms. What started as a one-time experiment has now grown into a staple offering at our campus, we couldn’t be more thrilled to share our slice of France with more people than ever.
