Mazen Assaf is an olive oil sommelier and founder of The Olive Oil Guy. Obsessed with olive oil since a childhood, a trip to Portugal at 9 years old made Mazen realise the various flavours and varieties of olive oils, and he has been pursuing olive oils from around the world ever since.
Following his training as an olive oil sommelier, Mazen has also been selected as an international judge, putting his expertise to work, supporting farms across the Mediterranean to source a selection of olive oils from harvest to table. Along the way, Mazen has worked with some of the best chefs around, most notably Joel Robuchon, for whom he curated a selection of olive oils from around the Mediterranean.
