Inspiring a New Generation of Chefs
We are excited to announce the launch of the Le Cordon Bleu UK Scholarship Award 2011.
Got the passion? If you are aged between 16 and 19 then this is your chance to win a scholarship to study at Le Cordon Bleu London and earn your Le Grand Diplôme. In just 9 months, Le Grand Diplôme students learn all the classic French techniques in Cuisine and Pâtisserie, progressing from Basic to Superior level over the course of 3 terms. Working with our expert master chefs, students receive the guidance and hands-on knowledge they need to obtain their Le Cordon Bleu Grand Diplôme - their ‘passport to the culinary world’.
Alongside the new UK Scholarship Award, Le Cordon Bleu will be travelling the length and breadth of the UK this autumn to offer students in colleges and schools the opportunity to attend a masterclass led by two of our top teaching chefs from Pâtisserie and Cuisine. During these masterclasses, the Le Cordon Bleu chefs will capture students’ imagination with an interactive cooking experience and discuss career opportunities within the culinary world.
The official launch of the UK Scholarship Award took place on Tuesday 7th June at Hampstead School, London, where Chef Loïc Malfait and Chef Julie Walsh inspired a new generation of would-be chefs, demonstrating their wealth of skill and experience in Cuisine and Pâtisserie.
Chef Julie Walsh commented, “This will be the first time that Le Cordon Bleu London has offered the Le Grand Diplôme UK Scholarship Award along with individual masterclasses. We are looking for 16-19 year old students; they don’t have to be experienced in cooking. All they need is passion and we’ll teach them the rest!”
