The final winners have been announced for the Taiwan Le Cordon Bleu Scholarship competition. After a tough two rounds the final five finalists are:

- Shih-Pin Yuan
Last Monday, fifteen finalists fought it out at the Ming Tai High School in the second round of competition to become one of five finalists with the possibility to win one of three Le Cordon Bleu Scholarships. The inner of the Taiwan Scholarship was also announced with Chien-Han Wang now the proud recipient of a scholarship to Le Cordon Bleu Taiwan!
Celebrity judge and Le Cordon Bleu Alumni Joanna Liu, Chef Yuji Toyonaga from Le Cordon Bleu Tokyo and Patrick Su Assistant Professor at National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, acted as guest judges on the day, interviewing and selecting the final five that will now go through to the third and final round of competition to be held in September at National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism. The Ming Tai High School is an elite private school in Taichung, Taiwan, that offers upper-secondary vocational programs and courses with a strong food and beverage focus, and will be the ideal location for these talented five to compete for the top three scholarships.
On the day each of the final fifteen were interviewed by Chef Yuji to determine their motivations and passion for culinary, and were treated to a dynamic Master Class demonstration by Chef Yuji. Chef Yuji who heralds from Le Cordon Bleu Tokyo is also a great ambassador for the Asiatic success of Le Cordon Bleu chefs internationally. Chef Yuji supported the students and acted as mentor throughout the two days culminating in the announcement of the final five finalists. He also visited Joanna Liu’s restaurant Dearlicious, a beautiful European styled eatery popular in Taipei, and gave a dessert demonstration for the local media to support this unique competition and Dearlicious.
In addition to the exciting competition program there were two Alumni gatherings organized in Taichung and Taipei to bring together the Le Cordon Bleu Alumni from several regions in the area. A total of fifty Alumni from Paris, Australia, Thailand and London all enjoyed dinner and the opportunity to reconnect or connect with other Alumni at these one off special events.
