Pop Up Tasting by Diploma in Wine Students
Pop-up Wine Tasting

On Monday 26th January 2015, Diploma in Wine, Gastronomy and Management students organised their first wine tasting in our school.

In charge of hosting their own tasting, students had to select the wines and beverages they wanted to showcase during the night. All students were then in charge of setting up their tables, maintaining high standard of service, interacting with the guests as well as promoting the wines they chose.

The pop-up tasting was organised in the same way than a professional tasting and students were expected to act as if they were professional in the industry: informing guests on the producers, the winemaking process, tasting information as well as retailing options.

This event is a component of the Diploma’s Hospitality & Events unit - A core element where students learn how to focus on wine service and personal communication skills. The unit also covers the different styles of services, the different service temperatures and adjustment techniques.

Overseen by Master Sommelier Matthieu Longuère, Diploma in Wine Gastronomy and Management has been designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to succeed as in the wine and spirits industries at international level.  Applications are now open.
