Undertaking “Vita Futura” Graduate Management Program

Nationality: Omani
Qualification: Graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Bachelor of Business – International Hotel and Resort Management in 2008
First Industry Placement: Fairmont Dubai, Dubai
Second Industry Placement: InterContinental Hotel, Sydney

Nusaiba is currently undertaking "Vita Futura" Graduate Management program at Sheraton Perth Hotel. This is a one-year program finishing in May 2010.

Departments that Nusaiba will work in during her Vita Futura Program are: Housekeeping, Guest Services, Reservations, Reception, Executive Lounge and Banquets, Human Resources, Sales and Marketing, Accounts, Engineering, Purchasing - then back to Front Office for the rest of her time to gain further management training, since her focus is in the Rooms Division while still maintaining her passion for Food and Beverage.

Nusaiba thinks that this program is challenging and helpful for her future:

"This program offers the flexibility to tailor the content specifically to meet my changing needs according to my career goals, therefore it actually has changed a few times, it might even change more in the future according to business demands and my growth.

My experience so far has been great, been given some projects and lots of training also the opportunity to attend some meetings, build my interpersonal skills, teambuilding and leadership skills. I am yet to experience and do more to further gain knowledge, attributes and confidence.

My short term goals is to become a Front Office Duty Manager by the end of my traineeship, however I am challenging myself to be that before I graduate from the Vita Futura. After that I dream of becoming an Executive lounge Manager- It has always been my favorite hotel area.

My ultimate goals involve me completing a PHD, becoming a General Manager, hopefully part of a regional management at a later stage, should my career plans remain the same and my hierarchy of needs does not expand! But surely before that to open a little cozy cafe for my addiction to coffee, that might someday turn into a franchise!"
