Five renowned Chefs hosted demonstration at Le Cordon bleu London

Le Cordon Bleu London welcomed some of the most renowned Chefs from China for a very special demonstration exclusively for our students.

On the morning of the event, the chefs visited New Covent Garden Market were they had the opportunity to buy the ingredients needed for their recipe. As the demonstration lasted two hours, they had to prepare one single dish each - in less than 20 minutes!

  • Chef Daniel (Wong Tian Man), from Opera Bombana

74c cooked Veal tenderloin, mango lime and soya Tapioca with pickled pearl onions

  • Chef Michael (Chen Qing) from Kong Yiji

Xiao Xing rice wine marinated chicken, Ice chute, Goji berries and sweet peas

  • Chef Frank (Feng Guoxu) from Da Dong

Chinese vinegar wok fried pork ribs, sugar snow garden

  • Chef Arthur (Zhou Feng) from the Ritz-Carlton

Sweet and sour cucumber with chilli mango salsa and its traditional cucumber gazpacho

  • Chef Nadia Frisina from Shelter Census Group (City of Dreams, Macau)

Mediterranean fish and cheese under the Chinese sun (Tuna tartare with ginger , Chinese parsley, finger lime, buffalo mozzarella, sweet onion and tomato salsa jelly)

During the event, students witnessed how experienced chefs manage their time. It was an illustration of what is already taught at the school since working under pressure and within strict time constraints are both key parts of the learning.

The visit of the five chefs was organised by New Western Magazine, the main food publication in China. By the end of the evening, students agreed that this was indeed a unique networking opportunity to meet with five very well established Chefs and some are even considering a career in China.

Guest chef demonstrations are held each term to allow our students to experience and learn a variety of culinary styles from the industry’s best chefs.
