Congratulations to Meryl Streep for her Best Actress Oscar nomination!

Le Cordon Bleu is proud to announce that Meryl Streep has been nominated for an Oscar through her performance in Julie & Julia as Julia Child, a famous Le Cordon bleu graduate. The 82nd Oscar ceremony will take place on 7th March 2010 in Hollywood, California.

Meryl Streep also won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical at 67th the Annual Golden Globe Awards. In United Kingdom, Meryl Streep has also been nominated by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) as best actress.

Julia Child, who graduated Le Cordon Bleu Paris in 1951, was one of the first women to introduce the French culinary techniques taught at Le Cordon Bleu to the American public, through television series and many publications. Julia Child's first book, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking" published nearly 50 years ago is back to the best-seller list since the film premiered in United States in August 2009.
