On 7th November at the Hotel Intercontinental Ballroom the Adelaide Review Hot 100 celebrated its 7th year embarking on the journey to find the best drinking wines in South Australia. This dynamic competition celebrates the diversity of South Australian wineries and wine makers and is open to both professional winemakers and amateurs alike.
As a major sponsor, Le Cordon Bleu presented the Best Aromatic light to medium bodied white wine with texture award for 2013 on the night. Eighteen esteemed judges including Mike Bennie - Wine journalist Gourmet Traveller and The Wine Front (NSW), Necia Wilden - Food Editor, Weekend A Plus and Personal Oz, The Australian and Andrea Frost - Wine journalist and author attend a blind tasting earlier in October at the Le Cordon Bleu Regency campus to select both the winners of the individual categories and the top ten finalists, with the eventual winner named South Australia’s most drinkable and best wine for 2013. And the winner was Lofty Valley Wines Steeped Pinot Noir 2012, Adelaide Hills. Several Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide students assisted on the evening and deserve a special mention. Thanks go to Isabelle Sophonseranee, Stand Zhang, Thi Hein Anh Nguyen, Eva Yang, Shirley Yan and Victoria Fang for helping on the night and adding to their valuable experience.
