The 2012 Good Food Guide Awards were announced over the past week in both Melbourne and Sydney. The Good Food Guide is the bestselling premier restaurant review brand in Australia and Le Cordon Bleu is proud to be sponsor of these events through naming rights of the Professional Excellence category which honours those individuals who make a major contribution to the restaurant industry.

On Monday 29th August, The Age Good Food Guide Awards were held at the National Gallery in Melbourne with over 600 guests attending the Event. Neil Perry was announced as the recipient of the Professional Excellence award. Neil is a strong and long time supporter of Le Cordon Bleu, a connection maintained through our industry placement team in Sydney.

On Monday 5th September the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards were held at Fox Studios with over 600 guests in attendance. Justin and Georgia North were announced as the recipients of the Professional Excellence award.

Justin and Georgia own and run a small culinary empire including Becasse, their two-hatted fine-dining establishment, a more casual dining room under the banner of Quarter 21, two patisseries, a cooking school, a provedore, two burger bars – Charlie and Co, Etch bistro and Le Grand Café at the Alliance Francaise. Le Cordon Bleu again has a strong relationship with Justin and his team through industry placement. Currently there are Le Cordon Bleu students working at Becasse Patisserie and Etch Bistro.

Tony Bilson’s restaurant Bilson’s was awarded three hats with new chef Diego Munoz in the kitchen (Le Cordon Bleu Paris alumni). The other restaurants in Sydney awarded the top level of three hats for 2012 were Quay, Est., Marque and Sepia. Through the industry placement team there are Le Cordon Bleu students currently working at Bilson’s and Quay.

Neil Perry’s restaurants Spice Temple and Rockpool Bar and Grill in Sydney were both awarded two hats. Again there are Le Cordon Bleu students working on industry placement in both restaurants.

Congratulations to Neil Perry, Justin and Georgia North on all their achievements and leading the industry in their pursuit for excellence. Le Cordon Bleu is obviously proud to be associated with the recognition of professional excellence.

Four Seasons attended Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide Graduation

At the recent Le Cordon Bleu Adelaide Graduation, Ms Nicole Salonga, the Human Resource Manager from the Four Seasons Sydney met with two graduates, Mr Yi Man (Stevie) Liu and Ms Mengting (Rita) Tang who have been successful to participate in the Four Season Manager in Training program (Roots) at the Four Seasons Shanghai in the near future.

Congratulations to the Le Cordon Bleu Sydney team of students and chefs who successfully competed and brought back a 'choco-block bag' of medals from the Callebaut Chocolate Gateaux and the Chocolate Showpiece Competitions the main features of the Hunter Valley Chocolate Festival on 6th and 7th August.
