Le Cordon Bleu Greater China Scholarship Comeptition

On the 5th November in Shanghai and 8th November in Taiwan, famed international culinary and hospitality institution Le Cordon Bleu, has hosted the semi-final of the ‘Live your dream with Le Cordon Bleu’ scholarship contest for Greater China region. 

Launched in July this year, following the success of the 2013 contest, the ‘Live your dream with Le Cordon Bleu’ scholarship contest offers students, Chefs and apprentices from the culinary industry, the opportunity to participate and showcase their skills in an effort to win one of five exclusive scholarships to global Le Cordon Bleu campuses. In a new initiative for the 2014 competition, residents of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau were also able to apply.

The forward thinking competition encourages a creative approach to win a scholarship to Le Cordon Bleu, which has been well received by eager applicants. Students were invited to create a three minute video as their application, which displays their passion for the culinary arts, including the making and presentation of a dish using local ingredients, as well as show how Le Cordon Bleu could help them achieve their career goals.

The judging panel hails from all areas of hospitality, from prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Chefs, outstanding Le Cordon Bleu Alumni to Industry partners and Media representatives. This includes Le Cordon Bleu Executive Chef Nicolas Serrano, Chef Philippe Clergue, Hotelier Patrick Su, as well as Le Cordon Bleu alumni Joanna Liu , Sammi Chung and Weimar Gomez.

The prizes the students will be competing for include scholarships for a Le Cordon Bleu Australia Bachelor of Business (International Restaurant Management), a Le Cordon Bleu Japan Diplôme de Patisserie, a Le Cordon Bleu Shanghai External Website Cuisine Diploma, a Le Cordon Bleu NKUHT International Master Chef Certificate, and a Le Cordon Bleu Ming Tai Foundation Program.

From the entries received since July, the Top 20 from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau as well as the Top 10 from Taiwan External Website have competed in the semi-finals being held in both countries, and listed below are the students who will be competing in the Final, to be held in Shanghai on 8th December.
