Winter session 2014 Culinary Arts Diploma graduation ceremony
The winter 2014 Diploma graduation ceremony took place at the renowned “Cercle de l’Union Interalliée” on December 19 2014. Le Cordon Bleu was delighted to welcome students’ families and friends, on this special day, to be part of this important event in our graduates’ lives.

We were honored to welcome Chef Lucien Veillet as class patron. Amongst other achievements since 1958, Chef Lucien Veillet worked as Chef Leader with Butard traiteur in Boulogne Billancourt, Executive Chef for two international Astronaut and Cosmonaut congresses, catering Chef before being nominated Head of Production for Joubert Traiteur since1995. For almost 40 years, Chef Lucien Veillet has dedicated himself to training many interns in his role as apprenticeship mentor. He became President of the Académie Nationale de Cuisine in 2010.

In his speech, he underlined the importance of transmission by explaining that “transmission of knowledge is the duty of all who pass on this earth, to ensure its sustainability”. He also added “if sometimes you doubt, start your work by asking yourself questions. It’s very important to persevere, success is the price, and success is in pugnacity. Never give up, go to the end of self, seek in the depths of self, where the best is to be found. This is the only way to progress”.

The winter class was made up of 53 students of 24 different nationalities, reflecting one of the strengths of Le Cordon Bleu network of schools: The multicultural environment. Each class is made up of students from the four corners of the world encouraging exchange, open mindedness, creativity and innovation.
