Le Cordon Bleu is proud to announce that Meryl Streep won the award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical for her performance in Julie & Julia at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Ms. Streep has also been nominated for an Oscar® award as Actress in a Leading Role by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The 82nd Annual Academy Awards® will take place March 7, 2010 in Hollywood, California. In United Kingdom, Meryl Streep has also been nominated by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) as best actress.
The major motion picture (Columbia Pictures) Julie & Julia was written for the screen and directed by Nora Ephron, starring Meryl Streep as Julia Child, Amy Adams as Julie Powell and Stanley Tucci as Paul Child. It‘s adapted from the book Julie & Julia by Julie Powell and My in Life in France by Julia Child with Alex Prud’homme, her grandnephew. Julia Child, who graduated Le Cordon Bleu Paris in 1951, was one of the first women to introduce the French culinary techniques taught at Le Cordon Bleu to the American public, through television series and many publications. Julia Child's first book, Mastering the Art of French Cooking published nearly 50 years ago is back to the best-seller list since the film premiered in United States in August 2009.
