Tai-Eun Kim, Business analysis team leader, Total food-service company ‘101group’

Cuisine Diploma 2011

Tai-Eun Kim graduated from the Cuisine Diploma program in 2011. She used to work at an IT company as a marketer. However she decided to study in the culinary field, because she wanted to do work that she could enjoy. She needed basic understanding of food and culture for her future dream but felt a limit in studying on her own. She entered the Le Cordon Bleu-Sookmyung Academy as she thought she would be able to learn the tradition and philosophy of French culinary as well as western dishes. Like she expected, she could learn the basic techniques in managing food-service companies. Furthermore her learning provided her with a strong foundation in understanding related industry trends. She also got the opportunity to work in a relevant industry through the introduction of an acquaintance at Le Cordon Bleu.

Now she is working as a business analysis team leader at ‘101group’, a total food-service company which manages French, Italian and Thai restaurants as well as provide food distribution and catering services. She is in charge of analysing and planning various business strategies. Her lifelong dream is to be the owner of a food related company that leads industry trends. She said, ‘If you only want to learn skills, you can do that faster working in the field, but there are much more important things you should not miss at Le Cordon Bleu.’ She advised that future students should not only concentrate on getting their diploma but also make their time in Le Cordon Bleu meaningful by developing their creativity and creating the opportunity for their future.
