September 2010

Le Cordon Bleu Australia based in Adelaide, presented an International Hotel and Restaurant Executive Management Program to a group of 42 professional personnel from the Hospitality, Tourism and Educational Sectors in Taiwan from the 6th – 12th September.

Le Cordon Bleu has remained at the forefront of hospitality and culinary practices, having evolved into a large international network of teaching institutes, with its broad reach making it recognised as the world leader in hospitality and culinary education.

Significantly, Le Cordon Bleu in Adelaide has achieved this by working in collaboration with TAFE SA, University of South Australia and other academics in the field constructing courses designed to address modern industry needs, and delivering the classes in a sophisticated modern campus with outstanding technological facilities.

Consequently, the Tourism Bureau of Taiwan’s Ministry of Transportation and Communications and the Commerce Development Research Institute requested Le Cordon Bleu to design a 6 day tailor-made residential program for the delegation to include lectures, workshops, presentations and field trips.

The Program was designed primarily to upgrade the knowledge and managerial skills of prospective manager’s from Taiwan’s Hotels and Hospitality Industry, Travel Industry and Tourism related departments in Universities. Whilst the delegates attended specialist lectures on campus they also participated in field trips to Paracombe wines in the Adelaide Hills, to learn  about the operations of a boutique winery and the Adelaide Convention Centre with its global reputation for excellence to view it’s world class facilities and hear about it’s commitment to sustainability.

“We are proud to be hosting the Taiwanese Delegation here at Le Cordon Bleu here in Adelaide” says Nick Gurner, General Manager Le Cordon Bleu. “The residential program has been specifically and carefully designed by the Le Cordon Bleu Academic Services Unit and Marketing Department with valuable input from our long term partners TAFE SA, UniSA and lecturers on the Le Cordon Bleu undergraduate and graduate programs” says Nick Gurner. “It is a great opportunity for the delegates to upgrade their Hospitality knowledge and learn first hand about the operations of some of Adelaide’s finest tourism venues. Due to the success of this residential program Le Cordon Bleu plans to conduct a series of executive programs in Adelaide from 2011 onwards”.
