Champagne vineyards discovery
Le Cordon Bleu, with its regular discovery trips to French vineyards such as Chablis and Sancerre, never ceases to transport us into the extraordinary universe of wine, revealing the sacred union between man and vine.
As the holidays approach, Le Cordon Bleu offers you a festive trip to Champagne, on Saturday 14 December.
This trip to the Champagne vineyards is open to all and the pleasure begins with a visit to Pierre Moncuit, a family grower-winemaker established in 1889 in the village of Mesnil sur Oger, one of the best grand cru ranked villages in Champagne. This traditional Champagne house with its years of know-how and heritage is skillfully managed by the current generation, Nicole Moncuit. We will be welcomed for a morning tour of the cellars followed by a tasting of 4 different Blanc de blanc wines.
This will be followed by lunch in Epernay's la Banque restaurant, where the traditional, refined, tasty and colorful cuisine will delight your tastebuds.
The afternoon will be spent in Reims, where we will visit G.H.Mumm, founded 1827, and its 25 million bottles patiently resting underground. We will also get the chance to discover the exceptional premises with an overview of the main steps in the making of Mumm Champagne. We get a chance to explore very beautiful museum and finish with a tasting of different vintage wines.
If time permits we will make a stop in the centre of Reims and its beautiful cathedral.
