The position – main roles and responsibilities
We are looking for a hospitality specialist with a passion for education who is outgoing and results-oriented to join our Career Services Australia team. Reporting to the Career Services Manager, Sydney and based at our Ryde campus in Sydney, your main functions will be:
To negotiate work placements, provide advice and support, career guidance and match suitably qualified students to relevant job matches as their course requirements dictate.
To establish and maintain strong industry links to relevant sectors within the culinary, hospitality and catering industries.
To grow the viability and prominence of the department and promote Le Cordon Bleu to industry representatives
To provide an employment resource to graduates and provide a more integrated career approach to the placement of students throughout their academic career and as graduates.
To grow the department as the course content and requirements for Career Services expand on a national and international level, with particular emphasis on developing relationships within the Food and Beverage (i.e. restaurants, both stand alone and within Hotels including convention centres and other catering organisations) and Culinary industries in Sydney.
The ideal candidate will have the following experience and education:
Extensive experience within the broader hospitality industry, including supervisory and/or management experience and a comprehensive understanding of contemporary hospitality and culinary practices
Proven background in dealing with human resource matters including recruitment and selection processes, writing resumes and the preparation and conduct of interviews
Demonstrated experience in dealing with a diverse range of people and cultures and in meeting their needs in a timely and efficient manner
Demonstrated experience in public speaking and presenting to groups of all sizes
Proven experience in professional relationship development and maintenance within the culinary and broader hospitality industry and the ability and drive to engage in ongoing networking events and activities to seek out future career opportunities for Le Cordon Bleu students within the culinary and broader hospitality industry
Must have relevant qualifications in related sectors such as Hospitality, Human Resources and Education). Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is desirable.
