Based on the latest text available (S. Michael Putnam and Tracy Rock (2018)
Action Research: Using Strategic Inquiry to Improve Teaching and Learning.
Thousand Oaks: Sage), which covers every aspect of designing and conducting an action research project, Module 1 introduces participants to the terminology and basic theory (Chapter 1 of the text), then asks them to complete a Summary Quiz, which is completed online via the publishers website.
This text has been made available through Engage, direct from Sage (publisher). Module 1 has been designed to take only up to 3-4 hours to complete, as a way to get lecturers on board without making the workload onerous.
Once completed, participants then take part in Module 2: Action Research Project. This is designed to run concurrently with the teaching terms and affords participant lecturers the opportunity to conduct action research in the classroom, focusing on issues or problems they confront on a weekly basis. Upon the successful completion of Module 2, participants will have completed 1 unit of study (16 credit points) towards the Le Cordon Bleu Professional Certificate.
Participants can then elect to study other units to fulfil the remaining requirements to be eligible for the Professional Certificate.
